WH Native Leading Hofstra Women's Lacrosse in Rookie Season

Becky Conto was named Colonial Athletic Association 'Rookie of the Week.'

West Hempstead native Becky Conto, a freshman attack for the Hofstra Pride women's lacrosse team, was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week this week.

It is Hofstra’s third CAA award of the season as freshman attack Emily Considine was the CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 18 and sophomore attack Brittain Altomare garnered CAA Player of the Week honors on March 4.

Conto continued the strong start to her rookie campaign as she posted a hat trick in the Pride’s lone game, an 8-5 win over Temple on Thursday. It marked the first multi-goal game of Conto’s career and upped her season total to seven goals.
