Garden City IRS Office Relocates to Bethpage

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Taxpayer Assistance Center will be closing its Garden City, NY office currently located at 107 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City, NY 11530 on Friday June 22nd at 4:30 p.m. and re-opening in its new location on Tuesday, June 26th at 8:30 a.m. The new office will be located at 999 Stewart Avenue, 1st floor, Bethpage, N.Y. 11714.  

Taxpayers should keep in mind that the IRS Internet website and the toll-free taxpayer assistance hotlines provide free technical guidance and tax forms without requiring a trip to the office. Taxpayers who need face-to-face IRS help in Long Island on Monday, June 25th may visit the IRS Taxpayer Assistance office at 1180 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Hauppauge, NY 11788 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  A full list of office locations is available at www.irs.gov.

Individuals who need tax help with a question may not have to travel farther than their computer. The IRS website at www.irs.gov is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  For those without Internet access, assistance is available through the IRS toll-free number at 800-829-1040. Tax forms can be ordered at 800-829-3676.

Taxpayer assistance will resume in the new location on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 8:30 a.m.  Taxpayers, who need answers to quick questions, help with tax preparation or to pick up free forms and publications can visit the new office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
