LHS Students Earn LISEF Honors

Three Lynbrook High School students earned recognition at the 2014 Long Island Science and Engineering Fair. Senior Charlie Friedfeld, whose research project was titled “A Novel Method for Investigating Memory and Social Behavior; Determining the Effect of Arbaclofen and Minocycline on Wild Type and Fragile X Induced Drosophila Melanogaster,” earned an honorable mention medallion. Seniors Joseph Cappadona and Molly Schiff both earned ASM Materials Science Education Foundation certificates and medallions. Joseph’s project was titled “Meeting the Challenge of Producing Thermally Conductive and Flame Retardant Polymers.” Molly research was titled “An Investigation of the Relationship between the Fugitive Nature of Natural Dyestuffs and their Substrates in Ambient and Anoxic Environments.”
