‘Wear Blue for the Men You Love®’ campaign for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month raises awareness of the critical importance of early detection in saving men’s lives
“Wear Blue for the Men You Love®” on September 27th to help raise awareness of prostate cancer! Whether it's a blue t-shirt, blue striped tie or blue suede shoes, you can put the focus on men’s health and early detection during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
Prostate Cancer remains the second deadliest cancer for men, causing approximately 30,000 deaths each year. Yet if detected early, this disease is almost always curable. The Wear Blue for the Men You Love® campaign, in its fourth year, is a call to action for all the important men in our lives: fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, and friends. Education and early detection are critical to winning the fight against prostate cancer.
Rhonda Samuel, Executive Director of Integrated Medical Foundation, urges everyone to wear blue on September 27th in honor or in memory of the men they love.
“In encouraging our friends, family and community to wear blue, we are building momentum for prostate cancer awareness,” said Samuel.
Join us for additional awareness building initiatives including the 5th annual Blue Ribbon Run for Prostate Cancer® at the Syosset Woodbury Park in Woodbury, NY, on November 17, 2013, and the Belmont Stakes “Blue Ribbon Run for Prostate Cancer®” at the Belmont Park Racetrack on June 1, 2014.
