It was a busy week on Malverne-West Hempstead-Lynbrook and Rockville Centre Patch, and your neighbors shared a number of stories pertaining to the local community.

Here's a look at some interesting boards posts from the past week:

  • Cole Brothers Circus Draws Protest in Oceanside: Protesters affiliated with Long Island Orchestrating for Nature (LION) carrying a banner that read “Circuses enslave, neglect, and abuse” stood in the middle of a roadway Monday outside the entrance of the Cole Brothers Circus at Fireman's Memorial Field in Oceanside as firefighters attempted to clear them.
  • Malverne Community Theatre Fundraiser Sunday: "Cocktails and Curtain Calls" - Aug. 4, 4 p.m. - 7pm @ Uva Rossa. Come eat, drink, and mingle with us. 
  • LI Coalition for the Homeless — School Supply Collection: The LI Coalition for the Homeless is conducting its 8th annual school supply collection for children in need on Long Island.
  • Mercedes Benz of RVC Grand Opening: On Thursday, July 18, more than 750 people came out to celebrate the grand opening of Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre’s 35,000 square-foot showroom, which in combination with the service center, recently underwent a $20 million dollar renovation.
