2nd ANNUAL "BATTLE TO FIGHT HUNGER"

Family Italian Deli & Caterers is an official drop off point for non prishable foods for LONG ISLAND CARES (The Harry Chapin Food Bank).

In many ways, America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 people in the United States, hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days.

Long Island is no different, or amune to this. This affects every religion, color, and race. It could be a neighbor, friend, or even a family member you may know.

Another thing that some folks might not think of: Pets also go hungry. Long Island Cares also accepts: Wet/Dry Dog Food, Wet/Dry Cat Food, Dog and Cat Treats,  Collars, Leashes, Bird Seed, Fish Food, Kitty Litter, Small New pet Toys.

So as you sit down to your next meal, please find it in your hearts to think of those that hunger daily, and drop off some non-perishable food items, unwanted gift cards, or even a monetary donation (in the form of a check to: Long Island Cares) to us.
