Here's what you need to know about the 2014 Memorial Day Parade in Malverne, West Hempstead, and Lynbrook.

Communities across the country will gather this weekend to celebrate and remember those who fought and gave their lives in the name of freedom.

Here's what you need to know about the 2014 Memorial Day Parades in Malverne, West Hempstead, and Lynbrook:

Malverne
Kickoff time: 10 a.m.
Parade Route: West on Church Street to Utterby Road, East on Utterby Road to Linmouth Road, South on Linmouth Road to Wicks Lane, East on Wicks Lane to Rolling Street, South on Rolling Street to Lexington Avenue, West on Lexington Avenue to Hempstead Avenue. There will be a stop at Hempstead and Lexington while the Veteran's Organizations and Village Officials place a wreath at Harris Memorial Field. The parade continues North on Hempstead Avenue to Church Street.
Hempstead Avenue will be closed on Monday 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from Broadway to Lakeview Avenue.
Ceremony: Reese Veterans Memorial Park gazebo following the parade

West Hempstead
Kick off: 10 a.m.
Parade route: Starts at Nassau Boulevard and Hempstead Avenue, follows Hempstead Avenue east to Roosevelt Boulevard, left to Roosevelt Boulevard to Echo Park lot.
Ceremony: 11 a.m.

Lynbrook
8:45 a.m. Assembly for VFW Post Service
Parade kick off: 9:45 a.m.
Route: Starts at Merrick Road and Charles Street, left onto Forest Avenue, heads south and turns right to Atlantic Avenue toward Merrick Road, left on Merrick Road toward Columbus Drive, left to Columbus Drive to Doughboy Monument.
Ceremony: Doughboy Memorial Ceremony follows parade.
