Hamptons Weekend Agenda: See Great Bonac Fireworks or Attend a Benefit With Bill Ritter

Many benefits, music performances, and art fairs are planned this weekend on the South Fork.

From Montauk to Westhampton Beach, here are some of the hottest events happening in the Hamptons this weekend.

MONTAUK

Benefit: Live Like David
A benefit for the family of David Harstein, who died from the hantavirus in June will be held at the Sole East Resort in Montauk on Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Lecture: Three-Day Symposium At Guild Hall
Starting Friday, The Hamptons Institue will present a series of discussions at Guild Hall in East Hampton. The series will kick-off with an insider view of what it's like to produce a showon Broadway.

Benefit: Nana Cares Sock Hop
The Kattie O. Berkoski Foundation is hosting a Sock Hop fundraiswer on Friday at 6 p.m. at theAmerican Legion Hall in Amaganset. For more information, click here.

Family: Classic Boat Fair & Martime Art Show
On Saturday, the East End Boat Society will hold a Classic Boat Fair and Maritime Art Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 301 Bluff Road in Amagansett. The event is free.

Art: Open Spaces III, Landscape Show "Beaches, Bays and Back Roads" Reception
Plein Air Peconic, made up of painters and photographers, will show their local landscapes works, featuring Peconic Land Trust conserved land. The show will will run Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall in the Springs.
 

Celebration: White, Hot & Blue: LongHouse's 20th Anniversary Celebration
A celebration of the LongHouse Reserve's 20th anniversary will be held at the reserve on Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets range from $600 to $24,000. Dale Chihuly and Barbara Slifka will be honored during the event.

Books: After Hours: James Frey
James Frey will discusses his recent book at the Amagansett Free Library from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. The event is open to all.

Family: The Great Bonac Fireworks

Formerly the Boys and Girls Harbor Fireworks show, the Clamshell Foundation is hosting the Saturday night event with fireworks by the Grucci family. The fireworks will be shot off from a barge in the middle of 3 Mile Harbor, so there are many viewing locations. This summer will mark the 31st annual display started by George Plimpton and Tony Duke. We are an all-volunteer not-for-profit, and all profits are donated locally here in East Hampton.

Benefit: Paddlers for Humanity Third Annual Whine Women and Girls Paddle

A paddle will be held to benefit the Retreat on Sunday at noon at Lazy Point in Amagansett. For more information, click here.

Benefit: Hamptons for Haiti Fundraiser

A Fundraiser for Haiti will be held at the Ross School in East Hampton on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Poetry: Poetry Marathon

On Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Marine Musuem in Amagansett a poetry reading will be held featuring Virginia Walker and Jean Kemper. Walker teaches English and humanities at Dowling College and Suffolk County Community College and was a finalist for Suffolk County Poet Laureate. Kemper’s articles and stories have appeared in The New York TimesThe East Hampton Star, and Women’s World.

BRIDGEHAMPTON

Art: ArtMRKT Hamptons Fair
An art fair, being put on by ArtMRKT Hamptons will debut at the Bridgehampton Historical Society's grounds through Sunday. The fair will feature contemporary and modern artworks.

Family: Antiques & Design Extravaganza

25 dealers from the United States and Europe will offer a selection of antiques on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Bridgehampton Community House in Bridgehampton, starting at 10 a.m. each day.

Benefit: Making Waves on Mecox Bay

A benefit for 88.3 WPPB-FM will be held on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 31 Morrison Lane in Water Mill. The event will feature a live and silent art auction.

SOUTHAMPTON

Benefit: Ann Liquori Foundation Dinner Dance

Sports radio & television personality Ann Liquori will host a dinner dance at Duck Walk Vineyards in Water Mill on Friday from 6:30 p.m. too 11 p.m. to benefit the American Cancer Society and Healthy Children, Healthy Futures.

Theater: Studs Terkel's 'Working' Opens

The late Studs Terkel's Tony-nominated Working will start at the Southampton Cultural Center and run through July 31. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m.

Benefit: Chabad of the Hamptons Twilight Cocktail Reception

A benefit for Chabad of the Hamptons will be held at a private home, 41 Old Mill Road in Water Mill on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $180 per person.

SAG HARBOR


Betty's Summer Vacation 
by Christopher Durang runs through July 31. The play is a comedy about a young woman who spends the summer in a beach town, which becomes a summer share nightmare. Trip Cullman directs the play, starring John Behlmann, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Veanne Cox, Tom Riis Farrell and Heidi Schreck as Betty. Tickets are $55 or $65. See it this Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. at .

Poetry: Carol Muske Dukes Reads

On Saturday at 6 p.m. Carol Muske Dukes will read from her new poems at Canio's Books in Sag Harbor.

Benefit: 'Rock the Dock' for Bay Street

On Saturday at 6:30 p.m. a gala benefit for Bay Street will be held at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.  The event will be hosted by True Blood's Chris Bauer, Richard Kind of Spin City and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Tony and Mercedes Ruelh.

HAMPTON BAYS

Music: Brian and Eddie at Tiderunners
Brian and Eddie are going on their seventh year as the Sunday band at  in Hampton Bays. They perform between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH/WESTHAMPTON

Music: The Fab Faux Performs

The Fab Faux, a Beatles cover band, will perform on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the . Tickets start at $85.

Benefit: Run for Joe Koziarz

The 21st annual Westhampton Beach Joe Koziarz Memorial 5K Run & Walk will he held on Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration starts at 7 a.m. on the Village Green with the race starting from the Westhampton Beach Post Office.

Books: Meet Author Roger Rosenblatt

The Open Book in Westhampton Beach will feature author Roger Rosenblatt on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  Roseblatt will read from his latest book Unless It Moves The Human Heart: The Craft and Art of Writing.

Family: Flower Show

A standard flower show will be held at  in Westhampton Beach on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will feature 30 exhibits in design.

QUOGUE/EAST QUOGUE

Benefit: 5th Annual Wild Night

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge will hold it's annual benefit gala on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at a private residence, 23 Shinnecock Road in Quogue.  Bill Ritter of Eyewitness News will be honored as a keynote speaker. Tickets start at $150.
