It's going to be an early spring!

Malverne Mel did not see his shadow this foggy Groundhog Day, signifying an early end to the frigid weather.

Mel's prediction mirrored that of Holtsville Hal but he disagreed with both Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck, who predicted six more weeks of winter.

Malverne Mel and Staten Island Chuck hold a calculated 56 percent accuracy of predicting the weather, compared to Holtsville Hal's 60 percent and ahead of Punxsutawney Phil's 44 percent, according to Newsday.

Last year, Mel saw his shadow.

"....on a lighter note, upon conclusion of the ceremony, Mel was tossed back into his metal cage and brought back to the Mayor's dark garage, where he will subsist on carrots and cold water until he is freed again for 5 minutes in January 2015"

Mel cant be any more inaccurate than those climate modelers predicting catastrophic global warming.
Tony February 03, 2014 at 10:27 AM
Bob, you got that right.
the big kahuna February 03, 2014 at 01:03 PM

I hope Obama keeps pushing his agenda to "COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE." The more he does that the more obvious it is that he is either a blithering idiot or a lying fraud. Either not good. Im going with the lying fraud.
Tony February 03, 2014 at 03:02 PM
I vote for both, Bob. The only problem with him continuing the push is that there are other idiots in state & local governments who believe in every word the king says and they are crippling our electric generating infrastructure with new rules & regs. I now live north of Tampa & we're paying more for electricity than you guys on LI are--and we have a huge nuke plant where we get something like 35% of our power from.

I wonder if Mrl has looked out of that home today first he will need to brush off a half of foot of snow

We are told by those on the left that want to use the climate issue as another way to grow government and transfer wealth, that the earth is warming in places we will never see. FYI, a record low temperature was approached in Antarctica last July of -136F, and temperatures in Siberia have been hovering between -60 and -80F this winter. Someone tell Obama his lies on CLIMATE CHANGE are getting rather stale and very transparent.
