Mayor Hendrick Undergoing Further Testing

Currently being treated for possible heart problems.

On Wednesday, the village reported that Lynbrook Mayor Bill Hendrick is undergoing further testing for an infected spleen and possible heart problems. The mayor was hospitalized last Friday.

Last week, Hendrick went to the doctor, where it was discovered that he had an infection in his spleen. After undergoing a CAT scan, doctors found that he had some blocked arteries. He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Winthrop University Hospital.

Hendrick has served as mayor since January, after being appointed by outgoing mayor and current state Assemblyman Brian Curran. He has been a member of the village board for nearly 20 years and is a longtime resident of Lynbrook.
