Huntington Investors Buy Long-Islander Newspaper

The Long-Islander newspaper, founded in 1838 by poet Walt Whitman, has been sold to a group of Huntington investors.

On its website, the newspaper said a group headed by James V. Kelly, of Huntington, CEO of JVKellyGroup, Inc., had acquired the paper, which also publishes the Half Hollow Hills Newspaper and The Record newspaper.

Northport Lawyer Seeks Votes for Maxim 'Hotties' Contest

Camila Medici isn't shy, and she wants you to know it.

The Northport native is asking her community to back her bid to become one of Maxim's "Hometown Hotties 2014." The contest, run by the men's magazine, seeks out sexy women in neighborhoods across the country and asks readers to vote for them in a series of elimination rounds.

"They say it takes a Village...well, I have just made it to the Maxim Hometown Hotties Competition, and you can vote for me and our hometown once a day," Medici, who works as an attorney,wrote on an announcement posted on Patch.
