No. 90 -- Check Out Greis Park

Check out a game, read a book, even meet the Easter Bunny.

Our eleventh installment in the "100 Things to Do in Lynbrook" is to take a trip to .

What better time to check out Greis Park than during the upcoming spring break. All year round, this park has much to offer the residents of our village. From roller hockey, soccer, basketball, spring and summer baseball games, to the 59th annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Picnic tables are set up to enjoy your lunch as you watch activities all around you or just a place to sit and maybe read a good book.

There is a really nice playground, sure to please your youngsters for hours. During the summer, the village pool is a popular place.

There's nothing more fun than watching a baseball game on a warm spring or summer night at Greis Park. Mister Softee always seems to come around just in time for that ice cream snack. There is also a snack bar open during many of the day's activities.

During spring break, on April 19 at 2 p.m., there will be a movie shown at the Recreation Center, open to all ages.

You also won’t want to miss, as mentioned earlier, the 59th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23. Starting at 9:30 a.m., there will be a magic show. Immediately following the magic show, all children up to age 10 can participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to give out candy and to take pictures. Inflatable rides for the children to enjoy also will be a part of the festivities. Registration ends on Friday, April 22. The event is open to all Lynbrook residents and/or those in School District 20.

Have a picnic, read a book, have a catch, throw a frisbee, watch a baseball game, shoot a game of pool -- the list goes on and on. Take a trip around Greis Park and find out just how many things there are for you and your family to do.
