Oct. 18: Breast Cancer Walk, Superintendent Search, Street Fair and More

A look a the top stories for this Thursday in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook.

Here are the top five headlines for Oct. 18.

  1. Breast Cancer Walk: The Malverne school district will be holding its annual Strikes for Life Walk in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at 3 p.m. at the high school track. Everyone is invited to attend.
  2. Superintendent Search: To get the community involved in its search for a new superintendent, the Lynbrook school district held a forum Tuesday. Find out today how it went and tell us what qualities you think the next Lynbrook school chief should possess.
  3. Space Committee: Get out your calendar because the next meeting of the West Hempstead School District's Space Utilization Committee has been moved from Oct. 23 to Oct. 30. It will still take place inside West Hempstead High School at 7:30 p.m.
  4. Malverne Run: The Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation and the Malverne Rotary held its annual 5K Run/Walk for Education Sunday morning. Look for photos and find out who won later this morning.
