One Year Ago: Snowstorm Forecast for Lynbrook

Lynbrook had been pounded with over a foot of snow just a week earlier when receiving this forecast on Jan. 6, 2011.

One year ago today on Jan. 6, the village of Lynbrook was warned of a possible snowstorm - just a week after the post-Christmas blizzard of 2010 which dumped over a foot of snow on the village.

"A Winter Storm Watch goes into effect starting Friday morning, with the potential for 7-9 inches of snow accumulation in Nassau by Saturday afternoon. The Winter Storm Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning," the states.

Thankfully, Lynbrook has not seen any signs of a snowstorm on the way. In fact, the National Weather Service says to expect nothing but sunshine and warm temperatures over the next week:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. West wind between 10 and 14 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Northwest wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 44.
