Two Beams Erected at Lynbrook 9/11 Memorial

World Trade Center steel goes up one month shy of 10th anniversary of attacks.

Lynbrook police escorted two pieces of World Trade Center steel to the village's 9/11 memorial on Wednesday, where they were installed as a permanent part of the memorial behind Lynbrook Village Hall.

The beams went up in front of a relatively small audience of village officials, residents and Patriot Guard Riders. A larger ceremony is being planned in September, when the steel will be dedicated.
