Unplowed, Hard-to-Pass Roads? Tell Us

Let us know in the comments where you are seeing unplowed roads.

A one-two punch of snow and ice this week has kept highway crews busy clearing roads so people can get out to go to work, or just pick up a meal downtown.

However, we're hearing from a few people who say side streets are still covered in snow and ice.

Let us know in the comments where you are seeing unplowed roads.

Didn't you know that the house was in the Unincorporated section of Lynbrook when you bought it?

Malverne: Aberdeen Area. All ice in streets, some homeowners have not shoved their property yet either. Dangerous for kids walking to school.

West Hempstead isn't bad except for folks walking to White Castle hamburger's get wet ankles from the piles of slush on Hempstead Turnpike and Hempstead Ave. My driveway is bluestone so I can't remove all the ice and snow from it but, that's my problem.

The good thing about Lynbrook is that all the roads are craters to begin with. The roads are in such poor condition that these storms could only make them so much worse.

I also live in the TOH section of Lybrook. After this latest storm on Wednesday I finally called Councilman Santino's office about the lack of plowing in my area. There are two schools within 3 blocks and we are also a bus route for the Kindergarten Center. It has been a disgrace that we are not made a priority area considering the number of school aged children walking, being driven to school and taking the bus. Councilman Santino's office was very helpful in finally getting plows here and a foreman who came to speak to me personally. Hopefully they will change their priority plowing going forward. Or they will be hearing from me again.
