VIDEO: Meet Malverne's Dancing with the Stars Contestants

Are you a fan of ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars?
Well, the Malverne Historical Society is hosting its own version of the ballroom dancing contest next Saturday, but instead of NFL players, Olympiads and Hollywood actresses, local community members will be competing for the judges' scores.
Patch recently caught up with the five couples at one of their grueling practice sessions at the Malverne Bible Church. Click on the video above to hear from some of the contestants, get a sneak peek at some of their moves and learn more about the live competition.

The first annual Dancing with the Malverne Stars event will take place at the Lynbrook Knights of Columbus (78 Hempstead Ave., Lynbrook) at 7 p.m. on Oct. 13. Tickets are $45 per person and include gourmet sandwiches and unlimited beer, wine and soda. The proceeds go to the Malverne Historical Society.
