PHOTOS: 5th Annual Lynbrook Halloween Havoc Festival

Children and parents dressed up in their finest for a Lynbrook Halloween celebration Sunday.

While more princesses and superheros spooked Atlantic Avenue than ghouls and ghosts this year, Lynbrook's 5th Annual celebration brought out nearly 1,000 children and family members tricking and treating with plenty of Halloween spirit on their costume’s sleeves, leggings and masks.

Parents and kids ate candy, enjoyed a magic show and put on temporary tattoos with a little help from community. Cookie decorations were provided by ; teachers from a local pre-school helped decorate pumpkins.

Mayor William Hendrick couldn’t have been happier with the turnout and fortunate weather, considering the unexpected snow storm just one day before.

“This gives the kids something to do that is nice, safe and clean for Halloween,” Hendrick said. "The kids are all dressed up and they look great.”
