The Historical Society of East Rockaway and Lynbrook (HSERL) is hosting its 4th annual Retrospective, an exhibit of maps, photographs, scale models, and displays. This year the exhibit has an emphasis on Lynbrook's history , as the Village is celebrating its Cenntenial.
There will be a special lecture on Wednesday, June 15th, by Art Mattson, Lynbrook’s Historian, entitled: "What's In a Name": how the name of Lynbrook was finally selected and what are some of the origins of the Village's street names.

Also on display are writings from all Lynbrook & East Rockaway 4th graders as they wrote about a moment in their own history, "Your Story is HiStory". During the day these students attend an interactive program based on NY State's 4th grade curriculum requirements to study local history.
