Jan. 14: Lynbrook Crime, Chamber Installs New Officers

Five things of interest happening in the village on Friday.

Here are five things of interest in Lynbrook today:

1 — Friday will be mostly sunny and about 29 degrees during the day in Lynbrook. The temperature drops to about 20 degrees at night.

2 — The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce installed new officers, including appointing the president and vice president for two-year terms. Later today, we'll have a story detailing who will be in charge of what Chamber job.

3 — The Lynbrook Public Library will be holding a Teddy Bear Tea at 3:30 p.m. Children ages 3-7, with a caregiver, can bring their favorite stuffed animal for a story time at the library, followed by tea and cookies. You must register for this event, so call the library at (516) 599-8630.

4— A couple of hours later, the library will hold Young Adults Game Night. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to come play video and board games, and enjoy pizza and snacks. The event is held from 6-8 p.m. You must register for this event, so call the library at (516) 599-8630.

5 — Check back later today for a report from the Lynbrook Police Department, which released its weekly crime report.
