Two-month spree comes to close with Monday arrest.

A homeless woman was arrested early Monday morning for the burglaries of five West Hempstead homes from February through April.

According to Nassau County detectives, the burglaries started on Feb. 15 when 23-year-old Shamasia M. Moore allegedly entered a Linden Street home and removed a laptop during the early morning hours.

The next burglary occurred nearly one month later on March 13 when police said Moore entered a Woodfield Road home and removed jewelry and electronics.

According to police, on March 20, Moore entered a Lincoln Avenue home and removed jewelry and other property.

Two weeks later, on April 5, police said Moore entered a home on Mulberry Lane and removed electronic equipment.

On April 11, Moore attempted to enter a Collins Lane home but left without any proceeds after the house alarm was activated, police said.

The final burglary came on April 17 when police said Moore entered a Hempstead Gardens Drive home and removed an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

Moore is charged with five counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of burglary in the second degree. She will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
