Finding great pizza is as easy as pie with these old favorites and two new establishments.

Nothing compares to New York pizza and you don't have to look hard to find a great slice in Malverne and West Hempstead.

Old favorites like on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne, and on Hempstead Turnpike, on Woodfield Road and on Poplar Street in West Hempstead continue to please customers with their cheesy creations.

For those who follow a Kosher diet, you can't go wrong with on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead. They have Kosher pizza, plus a wide variety of soups, sandwiches, salads, platters, knishes, rolls and blintzes.

This month, two new pizza joints have also opened up in the neighborhood. set up shop in what was once known as Peppino's Pizza, and took over Fabio's. Both offer all the Italian staples - pizza, heroes, pizza, calzones, pizza, pinwheels, pizza, pasta, and oh yea, did we mention pizza?

Additionally, these new establishments also cater to diners who are health conscious or have dietary restrictions. Both offer gluten-free, whole-wheat and vegan/vegetarian items.

To celebrate their grand opening, Nino's is hosting a on July 27 from noon-3 p.m. for the community with some events for the children too. (A ribbon-cutting will take place at 11:30 a.m.)

Pizza Cucina, which held their last week featuring face-painting and a clown, will also be offering $1 Pizza Month in September, where slices will only cost a buck.

These places earned a spot in our Top 100 list of things that make Malverne and West Hempstead great and we suggest you give them a try today. They prove you don't need to travel to the big city to enjoy great pizza. Finding a delicious slice in your own neighborhood is as easy as pie.
