PHOTOS: Malvernites Show Love of Art, Support for Merchants

The American Legion Hall was packed Friday night for the Malverne Merchants bi-annual art auction.

Going once, going twice....sold!

Exquisite paintings, sports memorabilia and even a guitar signed by the great Jon Bon Jovi, which sold for a whopping $2,100, were among the coveted items snatched up by buyers at the Malverne Merchants' art auction Friday.

Whether it was for their love of art or their local businesses, as the auction is the Malverne Merchant Association's sole fundraiser for the year, locals packed the American Legion Hall on Nov. 4. Malverne Deputy Mayor Joseph Hennessy, Trustee Jack O'Brien, Police Chief John Aresta and NYS Assemblyman Brian Curran were among those in attendance.
