Free Rides to Polls for Lynbrook Seniors on Election Day

Senior citizens looking to vote or volunteer at polling places eligible for free transportation.

With temperatures dropping and gasoline hard to comeby, one Lynbrook-based car service is making it easier for senior citizens in the village to vote this Election Day.

Village Car Service is offering free taxi rides to and from local polling places for Lynbrook senior citizens this Tuesday, Nov. 6. Call 516-764-8888 to request the service.

David O'Neill, owner of Village Car Service, explained at Monday's village board meeting, that the service also extends to senior citizens who are working at the polls. He did say that because of the gas shortage, customers taking advantage of the free car rides should brace for some delays.

"Please bear with us ... with the gas lines, it might not be 5 or 10 minutes, but we'll get you there as soon as we can," he added.
