Gulf Station Has Cheapest Gas in Lynbrook

Hopefully gas prices will continue going down in 2012. Prices finished the year with an average of $3.27, although Nassau County residents are more used to seeing prices closer to $3.50.

The prices listed here are taken from Motor Trend's website, which bases its information on credit card transactions. Some stations offer cheaper prices for cash-only purchases, and prices are subject to change.

Regular: The station at Ocean Ave. and Sunrise has the cheapest gas in the area at $3.499 a gallon. The Gulf at 500 Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway also has regular at $3.499.

If you're heading to Oceanside, fill up at the Hess at 2650 Long Beach Road, for $3.459. If you're in Rockville Centre, the Hess at 580 Sunrise Hwy. also has regular for $3.459.

Plus: The station at 440 Sunrise Hwy. has the cheapest plus for $3.619.

Premium: The BP station at 710 Merrick Rd. has the lowest premium grade, for $3.99.

Diesel: If your car takes diesel, you can fill up at the on Merrick Road for $4.559, or head to the Oceanside Hess at 550 Atlantic for $4.099.
