Update: Grand Jury Indicts Nanny Who Left…

Have You Visited Whitman Shops Recently?

With stores renovating and new traffic patterns emerging, the mall is taking on a new look.

Walt Whitman Shops is undergoing significant construction work, with  renovations along the stores facing Route 110.  In addition traffic patterns are changing and numerous parking lots are closed.

Inside, higher-end shops are moving into place while some older stores have moved into temporary quarters.

Even the mall's name has changed, as has the ATM supplier.

Have you gone shopping at the mall since the work started? Are you waiting for the project to be completed?

Do you find the parking areas and walkways easy to navigate?

Please tell us in the comments.

The high-end is not for most of us; although we're not at poverty level, it doesn't make sense to pay $50 for a t-shirt probably made in China. And, the new area for buses: the folks who work in those shops are far from the stores and won't have an easy time of it in bad weather. Who thinks up these plans anyway?

The surrounding areas are also very wealthy. Wealthy people spend money, poor people don't. That's why they are building stores to attract the rich.

The stores hopefully will cater to everyone..we are a varied lot...from "poor to wealthy" The mall ,at present ,is inconvenient ..to say the least..Parking is difficult at best..we go to Roosevelt field..a better variety of stores.. I hope the powers that be recognize the importance of places signs and speed bumps within the parking parameters of the new mall..sometimes you are running for your life, with kids in tow..seems some forget, they are in a parking area and not Indy 500..

They are still in the building process give them a break..maybe drivers should slow down. The mall is ALOT better than 20 years ago. Don't we forget the big store fire that killed workers. Much cleaner and nicer today.
