Lynbrook: A Week in Review

Last Sunday, the Lynbrook community held the annual , a celebration of the October holiday, on Atlantic Avenue. Children and parents dressed in festive costumes and enjoyed the goings-on along the block.

On Monday, we ran a review of the first episode of , which stars an engaged Lynbrook couple arguing through the wedding-planning process.

The Lynbrook Public Library hosted a for village teens. Prizes and refreshments were included.

On Tuesday, voters nationwide went to the polls. Local incumbents , D-Mineola, and state , R-Rockville Centre, kept their seats. McCarthy was challenged by Lynbrook resident Francis Becker. Also, Lynbrook Mayor for the 14th Assembly District seat. Control of the state Senate is dependent upon the results of several undecided races.

On Saturday, the Lynbrook football team defeated Manhasset, 42-0, to advance in the Nassau County Conference III playoffs. Full story will be up later today. The Owls will face Plainedge at Hofstra on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
