Lynbrook Chamber Hosts Craft & Vendor Fair

Rain keeps many away, but organization still able to raise some money.

Last Sunday, the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Craft & Vendor Fair in the parking lot of on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

Unfortunately, the event was not all it could have been, as a light rain kept many would-be browsers away.

"The craft fair was a big disappointment because of the weather," said Bill Gaylor, president of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce. "The weather did not cooperate. We did make some money — it wasn't a lot — we will use that money for furthering of work of the Chamber."

The Chamber will likely organize a similar event in the future, Gaylor said, but he does not anticipate that happening this summer.

But for those looking to make up for lost shopping time, you can head down to the car show tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Atlantic Avenue stores. Check out some vintage vehicles before walking along the street to check out some great Lynbrook shops and restaurants.
