National Wholesale Liquidators Returning to West Hempstead

Discount retailer will reopen store on Hempstead Turnpike as it returns to Long Island.

Rumors regarding the fate of the old National Wholesale Liquidators building in West Hempstead, once home to Shoppers Village, have been swirling around for months.

With a under development across the street where the Courtesy Hotel once stood, many have speculated whether a Target or Lowes would move into the three-story vacant building on Hempstead Turnpike and Westminster Road.

Well, it looks like the speculation is over. On Tuesday, Newsday reported that National Wholesale Liquidators is making a comeback on Long Island, reopening its original flagship store in West Hempstead on Nov. 22 and hiring more than 100 workers.
