Patch Picks: Places to Take Dad on Father's Day
Show Dad you care with these fun activities and restaurants in your area.
Since the early twentieth century, dads across the country have had a day to call their own.
The first Father’s Day was started in Fairmont, W. Va. on July 5, 1908. It was organized by a woman named Grace Golden Clayton, who wanted to celebrate the lives of 210 fathers who had been lost in a mining disaster. Clayton chose the Sunday closest to the birthday of her deceased father and today Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in many countries.
Are you looking to do something special for Dad this year? Patch asked a couple of local Dads what they would like to do or where they would like to go this weekend.
