Shop to Support Local Causes

Help local non-profits in Malverne or West Hempstead by shopping at Lord & Taylor on April 12.

A successful shopping spree can leave you looking fabulous and feeling great on the inside, but even more so far, when your purchases have the power to give back.

With Lord and Taylor’s annual fundraiser Shop Smart. do good! you can help out the or the West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund with everything you buy for one day only.

This annual fundraiser is sponsored by Lord & Taylor and helps local non-profit organizations. This year the Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corp and the West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund are participating in the April 12 Shop Smart. do good! at Lord & Taylor in Garden City located at 1200 Franklin Avenue.

The local organizations are selling tickets for the event that include incredible savings for shoppers. There is a special 20 percent off coupon that can be redeemed on one item, and a 15 percent off savings pass that can be used all day with very limited exclusions. All throughout the day there are special events and offers that take place at the store too.

The West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund benefits high school seniors living in the West Hempstead School District who are about to start college. Recipients of the scholarship must meet three criteria - a character evaluation, community service and financial need.

The (MVAC), a non-profit organization, has responded to emergency calls in and around the Village of Malverne since 1968 and has one of the best response times in Nassau County, less than three minutes. According to MVAC's Web site, they respond to around 450 calls a year.

All the proceeds from the sale of tickets will benefit the selected non-profit organization. You can purchase the tickets for the event by clicking here and select the charity that you would like to support.
