This Week's Best Local Gas Prices

Gas prices continue to rise, but Patch drove around the neighborhood to find the stations that will charge you the least to fill up your car's tank.

Cash-paying customers will get the lowest rate for regular gas at the station on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead, which is charging $3.18 per gallon. The OK Petroleum and on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead also have regular gas for a low $3.19 per gallon, but this price only applies to purchases made with cash. Credit card users will pay a few cents more for each gallon at these pumps.

If you live by your plastic, you'll need to drive to the Gulf on the corner on Nassau Boulevard and Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead to get regular gas for only $3.19 per gallon since this station charges the same price for cash and credit card customers.

Don't confuse this with the other in West Hempstead, the one located on Nassau Boulevard across from This station again has the steepest rates, charging cash customers $3.23 per gallon for regular gas and more if you whip out a credit card.

The best price for plus gas - $3.29 per gallon- was found at the Gulf in West Hempstead on the corner of Nassau Boulevard and Hempstead Turnpike. Again, this station offers this price to all customers regardless of what method of payment you use. s and OK Petroleum also have plus gas for this rate, but only for cash customers. The Gulf on Hempstead Turnpike also has the lowest price for super gasoline, $3.35 per gallon.
