West Hempstead Crunches to Fight Cancer

At Lady of America fitness club in West Hempstead, local residents know that the key to any good foundation is a solid core.

West Hempstead residents showed of their strong abs and big hearts this weekend as they crunched to help children who are fighting cancer.

The Patch was at Lady of America fitness club in West Hempstead on Saturday, where local residents gathered for one straight hour of ab crunches to help raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Even local Councilman Ed Ambrosino put his core to the test. Click on the video above to see more.

Owner Vita Zorbo and the team at Lady of America want to reach a fundraising goal of $1 million and are almost half way there!
