Western Beef Sign on the Agenda at BZA Hearing

Company proposes seven-foot high sign outside West Hempstead supermarket.

A West Hempstead supermarket is looking to install a new sign outside their store, but will first need approval from the Town of Hempstead Board of Zoning Appeals.

Cactus Properties 5, LLC, the company which owns Western Beef, is seeking a variance to install one double-faced illuminated sign attached to a proposed detached pylon structure outside the store at 611 Woodfield Road.

The overall size of the proposed sign is 240 sq. ft., with an overall height of 17'6" and setback just seven feet from Woodfield Road, according to the hearing agenda.

A local determination on the case will be made by the Nassau County Planning Commission. 

The hearing takes place on Wednesday, October 2 at 2 P.M.  It will be held at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Town Hall Plaza, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead NY.
