Holiday Party Brings Together West Hempstead Businesses

West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce celebrates holiday season, installs new board members.

The annual holiday party for the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce blended business, entertainment and philanthropy.

Nassau County Legis. Vincent Muscarella, along with NYS Assemblyman Ed Ra, installed the newest members of the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce's leadership team, and administered the oath of office to all its officers and board directors.

The event, held at the festively-decorated Pompei restaurant on Hempstead Avenue on Dec. 15, was also a great opportunity for the local merchants to mingle with one another and celebrate the holiday season. They enjoyed cocktails, delicious food and live music, and many went home with great raffle prizes that ranged for fitness classes to wine baskets, that had been donated by local businesses.

Their generosity also extended to children in need as they came bearing donations for the Toys for Tots program, coordinated by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Vita Zorbo, the Chamber's secretary, also reminded all the members that it's time to send in their 2012 dues, and gave them an incentive to renew early - half off the price of a booth at the annual fall street fair.
