Grant to Local Benevolent Association Donated from American Water Charitable Foundation

New York American Water recently presented a $1,000 grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation to the Volunteer and Exempt Firemen’s Benevolent Association of Malverne towards the use of purchasing emergency equipment.

“We are extremely proud to support the Malverne community and our friends at the Firemen’s Benevolent Association of Malverne,” said Brian Bruce, New York American Water Vice President of Operations.   “We are committed to being good neighbors in Malverne, as well as valuable members of the Nassau County communities.”

The American Water Charitable Foundation offers funding for various community and nonprofit organizations in the water provider’s service areas.  New York American Water has donated thousands of dollars through the charitable Foundation to various Nassau County emergency services programs in the last seven months.

The Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2010 with a founding contribution from American.  No customer funds are part of the American Water Charitable Foundation endowment.
