April 25: Gas Prices, Adoption of the Village Budget

Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — A rainy day is in store for the Lynbrook area, with on-and-off showers and thunderstorms possible. A high of 65 degrees is expected.

2 — You can no longer get gas in Lynbrook for under $4 a gallon. But Patch will show you where to find the lowest prices in the village in a story running later today.

3 — A tough weekend if you're a New York Rangers and/or Knicks fan. Need to vent about their losses with your fellow residents? Then head over to the Lynbrook Public Library at 1 p.m. for "Can We Talk," an open discussion group that is free to the public.

4 — The village's will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Lynbrook Recreation Center. An egg hunt will be held and the Easter bunny will be in attendance. Only residents who have registered for this event will be admitted (registration closed last week). For more information, call the Recreation Center at (516) 599-8000.

5 — The Lynbrook village board meets tonight at 7 p.m. On the agenda is seasonal hiring for the Recreation Department and adoption of the village budget.
