  1. Four Decades of Molding Young Minds: Susan O'Donohue doesn't hold the record for most years taught at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne, but she's close to breaking it. O'Donohue has devoted her entire 40-year teaching career to the school thus far and now even has former students' kids in her class. Our Patch reporter, Dave Paone, reunited with O'Donohue, 39 years after he was a student in her class, for an exclusive interview with the woman who has shaped the minds of many Malvernites.   2. A Female On Fire: The Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department held its elections  Thursday night and elected the first female assistant fire chief and its new head chief. Get the story later today.
  3. Play Ball: Malverne Little League will kick off their season this Saturday, with an opening ceremony planned for 9:45 a.m. at Harris Field. Meanwhile, the West Hempstead high school varsity baseball team is off to a rough start, losing their last three games. Patch sat down with the team's coach to discuss this year's roster and look at what he believes are their strengths and where they will struggle this season. Get the story later today.

  5. Book Sale: The Friends of the West Hempstead Public Library will be holding a three-day book sale starting this Friday. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 8-9, and noon to 5 p.m. on April 10. On Sunday there will also be a Bake Sale and a special promotion - $1 for a bag of books.
