Aug. 1: Gas Prices, Vote on New Hockey Arena

Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — Monday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of about 88 degrees. There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., which could bring gusty winds.

2 — Every Monday on Lynbrook Patch, we'll be posting a guide to the lowest gas prices in the village. Check them out at around 10 a.m.

3 — There's a lot happening at the Lynbrook Public Library this afternoon, including free movie Mondays and an open discussion group. Check them out on the library website.

4 — Today, residents will have the opportunity to vote on a referendum allowing Nassau County to bother $400 million for a new hockey arena and minor league ballpark in Uniondale. Polls are open at Lynbrook Village Hall.
