Aug. 29: Irene Leaves Damage Behind in Lynbrook

Five things you need to know today in town.

Check out five things you should know in Lynbrook for this Monday, August 29: 

1. The weather is finally taking a turn for the better today, with highs reaching 80 degrees and mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. Expect this trend of beautiful conditions to last through most of the week.

2. As many Lynbrook residents were still without power last night, LIPA is working to begin restoration efforts. As of 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, were still without power. According to LIPA, 471,000 customers were in the dark across Long Island – the most in 26 years.
