A free bellydance class for breast cancer survivors will be held at Adelphi University on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Discover this captivating and beautiful art form taught by a professional belly dancer. This can be a refreshing alternative to traditional exercise. Learn popular belly dance movements that include hip circles, figure 8’s, crescent moons, hip twists, undulations, shimmies and more. Get ready for a magic carpet ride that will enhance your confidence, boost your sensuality and add fun to your workout!
Aviva Khadra, a performer, teacher and choreographer, will be leading the class. She is the director of the Harem Belly Dance Studio in Baldwin.
Khadra has studied extensively with world-renowned Middle Eastern dancers and performed at Lincoln Center, Epcot Center and at nightclubs and restaurants in the tri-state area.
The event will take place at Adelphi's Alumni House, located at 154 Cambridge Ave. in Garden City. There is no charge but pre-registration is required. Call 516-877-4325 to register.
