Crime Report: Woman Claims She Was Threatened With Machine Gun in Lynbrook

The weekly crime report from the Lynbrook Police Department.

Woman says she was threatened with gun

A female victim reported being threatened at gunpoint after being involved in an auto accident at Merrick Road and Horton Avenue early Feb. 4.

According to Lynbrook police, the woman reported getting into an accident with a small white automobile with a Florida license plate at about 9:20 a.m. on Feb. 4. The woman told police that when she approached the other vehicle, a male driver displayed what looked like a black machine gun and said "I will kill you" before driving away southbound on Horton Avenue.

The only description police provided was that the man was of Hispanic or Middle Eastern descent and about 20 years of age.

Arrests

  • On Feb. 1 at 11:50 p.m., Deni Mora, 19, of Bayshore, N.Y., was arrested on Merrick Road in Lynbrook on an open warrant for a probation violation from Suffolk County and an open warrant from Nassau County for Possession of Alcohol.
  • On Feb. 2 at 12:40 a.m., Kevin Brunson, 31, of Freeport, N.Y., was arrested on Merrick Road in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • On Feb. 4 at 9:26 p.m., Richard Blount, 19, of Glen Cove, N.Y., was arrested on Walnut Street in Lynbrook and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
  • On Feb. 4 at 9:55 p.m., Angel Padro, Jr., 20, of Rockville Centre, N.Y., was arrested on Denton Avenue in Lynbrook and charged with False Personation.
  • On Feb. 4 at 10:45 p.m., Courtney Linton, 19, of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., was arrested at Horton Avenue and Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Fleeing from the Police.
  • On Feb. 5 at 10:25 p.m., Cornell Adams, 39, of Lynbrook, N.Y., was arrested at the Lynbrook train station on two open warrants from Lynbrook village court.
  • On Feb. 6 at 12:04 a.m., Joseph Echie, 33, of Valley Stream, N.Y., was arrested on Merrick Road and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Case Reports

  • Between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, sunglasses and a GPS unit valued at $220 were reported stolen from a Ford Explorer parked on Carpenter Avenue in Lynbrook.
