February is here and it's already shaping up to be a busy month with events to mark Groundhog Day, Black History Month and more.

  1. Black History Month: Today begins Black History Month. Find out what local events are planned in Malverne and West Hempstead later today.
  2. Village Board: The Malverne Village Board will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. Check Patch tomorrow for a recap.
  3. Nassau County Police:to tell us what you think about the restructuring of Nassau County's police precincts, including the Fifth, which serves West Hempstead and Lakeview. Then, later today meet the newly re-elected head of the local unit of Nassau's Auxilliary Police.
