Feb. 1: Lynbrook Football Star Chooses College

Paul Magloire will be at the high school today to announce his decision.

 

  • Paul Magloire, the former Lynbrook QB who helped the Owls win the Long Island Championship in 2010, will announce today at 11:30 a.m. at that he is signing with Appalachian State, located in Boone, North Carolina. The Mountaineers compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are members of the Southern Conference. They are known by many in the sports community for their huge upset over Michigan in 2007. 
  • Magloire spent his freshman year at Milford Academy, a prep school. He is ranked as a two-star prospect at Rivals.com and told Patch on Tuesday that he expects to play quarterback for the Mountaineers.
  • Magloire is a dual-threat QB, meaning he can both air it out and run. Check out the attached YouTube video at the :25 second mark to see Magloire score a rushing touchdown against Sayville in the 2010 championship game and stay with us for the story Thursday. 
  • Today marks the beginning of Black History Month. Are you observing the month?
  • On Tuesday, Rhame Avenue School held a reaction meeting to the proposed Princeton Plan. Today, the East Rockaway community is at the Centre Ave. school.
