TGIF. Friday has finally arrived, but what an exhausting and exciting week it has been.

Here's a guide to the top stories you can expect to find on Patch today, as well as important events that are happening in Malverne and West Hempstead.

  1. Water Worries: Over 140 concerned residents, mainly from Malverne, but also some from West Hempstead and other surrounding communities, turned out to Thursday night's meeting with Long Island American Water President Bill Varley. The packed room, which also included local officials and multiple media outlets, aired their concerns about the quality of the water coming into their homes and demanded answers and action from the water company. Courtesy Checks Out: Patch announced a breaking news story Thursday night, when word came in that the owners of the l and the developer that has had their eyes set on the property finally completed the sale of what has become a thorn in the side of many residents.   3. Role Model Search: The Lakeview Branch of the NAACP met at in West Hempstead on Jan. 28 to celebrate their annual Jubilee. The night was full of song and dance, but the community leaders also had an important message for all those in attendance.
