Feb. 11: Crime Report, Budget Talk from the Lynbrook Board of Education

Five things of interest in Lynbrook and/or on Patch on Friday.

Here are five things of interest happening in Lynbrook and/or on Lynbrook Patch today:

1 — Keep an eye out for the weekly Lynbrook crime report on Patch later today. We'll let you know what incidents have taken place in the village in the past week.

2 — The Lynbrook Board of Education had a long and busy evening on Wednesday. Superintendent Dr. Santo Barbarino and trustees are waiting to hear whether the governor's proposed tax cap, if approved by the state legislature, will go into effect for 2011-12 or 2012-13, as they work to put together a district budget with reduced state aid and increasing payments to the state.

3 — Don't miss the daily PatchCast, a video round-up of all the top stories in Nassau County, to be posted later this evening.

4 — Yesterday on Patch, you read about Lynbrook's open houses. Today, we'll report what homes have sold for in recent weeks. Stay tuned.

5 — Every Friday from 7-9:30 p.m., in Lynbrook will hold Tween/Teen Skate for ages 10-14 only. Adults are only allowed into the building as chaperones. For more information, call (516) 593-1300.
