Feb. 2: School Closings, Delays

Icy roads and freezing rain have and forced some local schools to shut their doors while others will have delayed openings.

Here's the list as of 6:45 a.m.

Closed

• All West Hemstead Public Schools: Chestnut Street, Cornwell Avenue, George Washington, West Hempstead Middle School and West Hempstead High School
• St. Thomas the Apostle School

Delayed Starts

• Our Lady of Lourdes School - Two-hour delayed start, Classes will begin at 10 a.m.
• Valley Stream North High School - Delayed start at 10 a.m.
• Dever Elementary School- Delayed start at 10 a.m.
• All Malverne Public Schools: Downing, Davison Avenue, Herber and Malverne High School - Two hour delayed start
