  1. Goodbye Cork N' Board: After over 30 years in the village of Malverne, the Cork N' Board restaurant on Hempstead Avenue served its final meals Sunday night. Patch sat down with the owner of the business to learn why the establishment has been forced to leave town and to reflect back on the memories he's made in Malverne. Plus, we have photos and videos from the final event held at the restaurant's pub, where Mayor Patricia Norris McDonald presented the establishment with an honor. Visit Patch at 3p.m. for the story.
  2. Ways to Slash West Hempstead's School Budget: At the most recent business meeting of the West Hempstead Board of Education, Anthony Brita, a board member and chairperson of a budget advisory committee composed of local residents, offered suggestions the group had developed to help boost the school district's revenue and reduce costs. As West Hempstead, like most area school districts, prepares for a very challenging budget year, see what ideas these taxpayers brought to the table later today.
  3. Birds of Prey: Since the kids are off from school this week, take them to the today where they can have a close encounter with Long Island's birds of prey. Children from Kindergarten through Grade 5 can join the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons  from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to learn about exciting creatures that are native to the area including the great horned owls and red-tailed hawks.
