July 13: Lynbrook Job Openings, Home Design Tips

Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — We hope everyone had a chance to recover from yesterday's intense heat. Wednesday will be a tad cooler, with a high temperature of 86 degrees. The evening hours will bring a comfortable 64 degrees.

2 — Every Wednesday on Lynbrook Patch, we'll be featuring several job openings in and around the village. Look out for that story later today.

3 — Looking to change up a room in your home? In an article running later today, Patch columnist Melissa O'Connor will offer some pointers on how to create the perfect balance between your furniture, household items, and negative space.

4 — Keep your cool with a trip to the village pool, located in Greis Park. The pool is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information or to register for a pool membership, call the Lynbrook Recreation Center at (516) 599-8000.

5 — The Lynbrook Public Library will be holding two sessions of "Sky's the Limit," this afternoon. Children can step into the Sky Tent, an inflatable planetarium, to check out the night sky from inside the library. Grades K-2 meet from 1-1:30 p.m., followed by grades 3-5, which meet from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. To register for these programs, call the library at (516) 599-8630.
