1. West Hempstead Graduate Passes: Services for the late Alice M. Berridge, a member of the first class to graduate West Hempstead High School, will be held today in Syosset. Berridge died on June 25 at the age of 75 after a battle with cancer. for the story.

Harry Potter Casts Final Spell: Malverne "muggles," as they call fans of the Harry Potter series, turned out to Village Hall Thursday night for a screening of Part I of the Deathly Hallows in preparation of the final film's release today.
